Here are a few Scandinavian Structures (or dwellings, outhouses, municiple buildings, pleasure craft etc) from the past 100o years, give or take a century or two.  We drew inspiration from these structures when designing and building our Scandinavian home in Michigan.  Most are from one of the most amazing museums I have ever seen.

The Norsk Folkemuseum in Norway showcases Norwegian homes and culture over the centuries.  You can walk around them and really see, feel and touch some of these gorgeous structures.

Here is a link to their website:  http://www.norskfolkemuseum.no/

The photo to the left is the inspiration for the Berrien Springs Scandinavian home.   Similar witdth, similar roof pitch, and similar size... although the Berrien Springs, Michigan version was strictly built in accordance to the current Michigan Building Code!

These following photos were taken by Anne-Lise Reinsfelt.  You can view more of her work at http://www.norskfolkemuseum.no/no/Malgruppe-Innganger/For-pressen/Pressebilder/
